Dr. Flor Ortiz leads a cannabis knowledge-building workshop for our community on the properties and applications of CBG in animal patients.
Dr. Flor is a Mexican DVM from the FMVZ-UNAM, is a cannabis-knowledgeable veterinarian, and a Veterinary Cannabis Counselor (VCC). She is Co-Founder and Co-Director of ICAN vets and is a board member of Care for the Healer. She currently serves as director of the education and content creation area of the Cannabis Institute (ICAN) in Mexico City.



The cannabis landscape, especially at a global level, continues to evolve rapidly. This workshop is accessible to all of our community, even those without cannabis experience - join us an learn about the fascinating and quickly unfolding veterinary medical cannabis field.

Dr. Flor brings her expertise to our community to discuss recent updates in the cannabis medical field. Recently in 2022, Dr. Flor together with two human medicine physicians, achieved the publication of an article titled “Cannabidiol as a personalized treatment for anxiety: clinical cases in Mexico” in the indexed journal Drugs in Context.
She is also a member of these cannabis organizations: Veterinary Medicinal Cannabis Network (Red Cannabis Medicinal Veterinaria), the Ethology and Animal Welfare Mexican Society (Sociedad Mexicana de Etología y Bienestar Animal), the Veterinary Cannabis Society (VCS) and the Canadian Association of Veterinary Cannabinoid Medicine (CAVCM).
