Including cannabis and endocannabinoid system (ECS) awareness in anesthesia & pain control
Join Dr. João Lourenço Gewehr, the medical director for Veterinary Cannabis in a discussion about the relation between anesthesia and the endocannabinoid system (ECS). This lecture describes new research on the interactions of phytocannabinoids with the ECS, specifically during anesthesia and in pain control treatment plans.
More specifically, this lecture will discuss how anesthetics modulate the ECS, and how phytocannabinoids shape these interactions, both in the area of recreational use as well as in medical applications.
Also, Dr Lourenço Gewehr will talk about the methodology and results of his research. This presentation is a summary of Dr. Gewehr masters thesis research, detailed in the full article here.
