VeterinaryPsy is an organization dedicated to harm reduction education and all-species safety. We emphasizes the importance of safety for animals in psychedelic science and the broader emerging psychedelic ecosystems.
Please DO NOT administer MDMA (or any other psychedelic substance) to your dog.
Given MDMA's narrow window of toxicity in dogs, we strongly discourage at-home administration. Also, given that caffeine is commonly mixed with recreational MDMA, this is of added concern given the hyper-sensitivity of caffeine in dogs and cats.
There is a lot we do not know as it relates to psychedelic substances and the immediate, delayed and secondary effects on domestic animals. We advocate for reducing accidental ingestions and do not recommend intentionally giving pets MDMA or other psychedelics without veterinary oversight.Â

Learn more - is there therapeutic potential?
Just as for humans, psychedelic substances when used with medical oversight within a planned and an all-species-safe setting, may also have important therapeutic potential in animals.
